Control experiments for colonization (A) and stability (B). At the end of each experiment stool was weighted, homogenized, diluted and plated on agar followed by incubation at 37°C for three days. Bacterial colonies were counted (A). Colony PCR with Nissle specific primers (Table1) was performed on selected bacterial clones. On the left is the molecular weight standard in kilobases (KB) (B).
